Senior Developer positions offered by Michaels Stores, Inc. (Grapevine, Texas). Independently partner with the business and product team to assess and understand business requests. Work from an approved product backlog to new feature & enhancement requests to compatible code. Code, apply proper programming standards, and document major changes from core functionality. Assist business and product team with gathering, clarifying, translating and defining business requirements into specific system requirements. Conduct research and fact finding to solve business problems and meet the business needs. Ensure the proper maintenance & stability of all applications in scope. Provide level 3 support for applications in area of responsibility. Document and recommend functional solutions where applicable. Partner with business owners to determine ROI on project/enhancement requests. Create conceptual and functional designs to the project development teams. Lead the analysis and implementation of Product Life Cycle Management capabilities. Lead user acceptance phase of projects. Prepare for passage of quarterly PCI audits, managing audit trail of all production changes, ensuring ITPO adherence, and ensuring the latest SDLC best-practices are adhered to. Work from an approved product backlog to new features and enhancement request to the Framing application compatible code. Apply proper programming standards and document major changes from the core functionality. Position reports to Grapevine, TX office. Telecommuting permitted in accordance with company policy, but must live within commuting distance of stated office.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Informatics, Business Administration, Finance or a related field and 5 years of technology experience, including troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis of complex IT solutions. Must have 3 years of experience in each of the following: o Leading a development team; o Documenting business, process and data flows; o Systems development life cycle including issue, risk and scope management; o Test strategies, test plans and test execution; o Developing automated unit tests; o Full product development lifecycle (design, development and testing); o Working with large scale web traffic and data with experience in Data Structures, Algorithms, or Linear Algebra; o Java, Angular, React JS, MongoDB, MySQL, or similar programming language; o Building search systems such as Elastic, SORL, or Lucene; and, o Working with cloud services, such as AWS or Google Cloud. Must also have education, training, or experience in building large-scale data pipelines and using reporting tools including splunk or datadog. Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently. Position reports to Grapevine, TX office.
