This role is a critical technical position responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable ecommerce solutions across our portfolio of companies — with deep hands-on work in Shopify platform architecture, Google & Amazon marketplace operations, API integrations, and custom application development. Our ecommerce team is creative-heavy, moves fast, and needs a technology anchor that can help set strong technical foundations to scale our capabilities. We're looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about ecommerce technology, comfortable owning complex integrations end-to-end, and excited to grow with a team that spans technology services, healthcare, real estate, and consumer brands. If you're a self-starter who can hold yourself accountable across multiple priorities simultaneously and has a pattern of continual learning, we encourage you to apply. Learn more about Inventure IT by visiting our website at www.inventureit.com. You may also explore several of our portfolio companies at the links below for a better sense of who we are and the scope of what we build. What are you doing during your first two weeks? Meet the team and get settled in.
Get familiar with our tools:
Slack, Google Workspace, Azure DevOps, and our ecommerce platforms. Review our current lineup of projects and learn about our companies, products, systems, and development frameworks. Attend planning meetings with stakeholder teams, grab action items from our task lists, and begin working directly with the COO and development leads. Conduct an audit of existing Shopify and Amazon configurations to establish a baseline and identify quick wins. What are you doing during your first full month? Take ownership of at least one active ecommerce project — contributing meaningfully to architecture decisions and implementation. Complete your first integration or automation deployment as part of a larger go-live. Review and document existing API connectors and automation workflows, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities. Begin building familiarity with our .NET/C# application layer and SQL Server environment. What are you doing during your first three months? Execute across numerous ecommerce and platform projects, internal and external, as a valued senior member of the team. Establish strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external implementation partners. Get in the groove managing your time, project contributions, and our agile methodologies to become a top-producing member of our engineering team. Take on increasing responsibility collaborating with leadership to define ecommerce strategy and infrastructure for the portfolio. Responsibilities Develop and maintain Shopify architecture, integrations, APIs, automation workflows, and custom applications to extend and optimize platform functionality. Build and maintain API connector integrations and automation solutions, including Shopify Flow workflows and Matrixify-based implementations. Maintain hands-on familiarity with Shopify's Liquid, Hydrogen, and Oxygen frameworks across development, customization, and platform configuration. Design, set up, and manage Amazon storefronts and marketplace presence, including catalog configuration, product detail page optimization, brand storefront buildout, and ongoing marketplace administration. Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical solutions and implementation plans. Oversee and collaborate with development teams and external implementation partners as needed. Develop and maintain applications using .NET Framework and C#. Manage and optimize SQL Server databases in support of ecommerce operations. Utilize Google Analytics and Google Merchant Center to support data-driven decision-making. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to continuously improve and scale ecommerce infrastructure across the portfolio. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred. 3-5 years of hands-on experience working within the Shopify platform, including Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Liquid. Proven experience writing and deploying custom Shopify apps. Experience building API connector integrations with Shopify Flows; ability to handle integrations via custom apps strongly preferred. 3+ years of theme customization experience inside Shopify. 3+ years of experience setting up and managing products and storefronts on Amazon, including catalog setup, product detail page customization, and marketplace configuration. 2+ years of experience with the .NET Framework. 3+ years of experience with C#. 3+ years of SQL Server experience. Demonstrated proficiency in Google Analytics and Google Merchant Center. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively within tight turnaround times.
