Job Description
Overview Our client, a large and well-established utility company in the Washington, DC area, is seeking a SharePoint Specialist to support a critical initiative focused on modernizing and optimizing their SharePoint Online environment. This role will partner closely with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS), Operations, IT, and cross-functional teams to enhance collaboration, organization, and governance across multiple SharePoint sites. This is a high-impact opportunity to drive improvements in user experience, content management, and compliance within a complex enterprise environment. The position offers a hybrid schedule, with 3 days onsite in Springfield, VA. Responsibilities Assess existing SharePoint sites, including structure, permissions, and content organization Design and implement improved site architecture, navigation, and taxonomy Configure document libraries, metadata, views, and retention policies Build and enhance workflows, forms, and automation using Power Automate Establish governance standards for site ownership, permissions, and content lifecycle management Lead content migration and reorganization efforts with minimal disruption to end users Develop user-friendly documentation, job aids, and training materials Collaborate with IT, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment Ensure compliance with internal security, records management, and data governance policies Qualifications Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online (required) Experience building and enhancing intranet or enterprise collaboration sites Strong understanding of site architecture, permissions, and governance best practices Experience with Microsoft 365 tools including Teams and OneDrive Experience with Power Automate (Power Apps is a plus) Familiarity with records management and compliance frameworks Bachelor's degree preferred 4 Reasons to Join The Squires Group, Inc.: 1.
