This role is supporting a large-scale enterprise client, where you will be responsible for application development, maintenance, and modernization of mission-critical iSeries-based systems. The ideal candidate combines strong RPG skills with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and drive continuous improvement. This position will be

• What You'll Do
• + Design, develop, test, and deploy RPG applications running on the IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform, including

RPG III, IV, ILE, SQL

programming, created SQL tables and queries, CL programming, and batch processing components. + Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across RPG and legacy applications within established SLA timelines. + Develop and maintain interfaces between iSeries applications utilizing DDM (Distributed Data Management), as well as external systems. + Collaborate with business analysts and client stakeholders to translate functional requirements into detailed technical specifications and solution designs. + Perform code reviews, enforce coding standards, and contribute to the team's knowledge base and documentation library. + Support database design and optimization on DB2 for i, including SQL tuning, stored procedures, and data modeling. + Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives) and contribute to accurate effort estimation. + Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and technical debt reduction within the managed services scope.

• What You'll Need

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience) + 7+ years of hands-on RPG software development experience on the IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform + Working knowledge of IBM iSeries technologies including DB2 for iSeries, and the IFS (Integrated File System) + Solid understanding of relational database design and advanced SQL on DB2 for iSeries + Demonstrated ability to work within a managed services or outsourced delivery model with defined SLAs and change management processes + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred:

+ Experience with application performance monitoring and logging tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar) + Background in logistics, supply chain + Experience using IBMi Navigator for database analysis + Experience with MKS Implementer
