Software Engineer, Remote Job Description We are seeking a Full Stack .NET Engineer to help modernize and transform a legacy system. This role is designed for engineers who can deliver results with speed, precision, and autonomy. It requires a high degree of technical fluency, ownership, and the ability to execute effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. Responsibilities Rapidly gain fluency in a 2M+ line VB.NET codebase, helping evolve it for today's needs. Build and enhance our C# middle layer using Entity Framework Core. Design and implement full-feature solutions alongside our product owner. Triage and resolve critical, high-stakes bugs. Own integrations with third-party APIs such as UPS, Vertex, FedEx, and Twilio. Collaborate with other high-performing developers to raise the bar for the platform. Essential Skills 6+ years of full stack development experience with VB.NET. Proficiency in both legacy systems and modern C#/EF Core patterns. Experience with legacy code migrations. Strong skills in

#, ASP.NET Core, Razor MVC, and SQL scripting. Experience with SQL Server and Entity Framework Core. Familiarity with Azure DevOps and GitHub Copilot. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with 3rd-party APIs such as UPS, Vertex, Twilio, FedEx, and Azure. Knowledge of RESTful APIs and artificial intelligence software. Work Environment This development team operates 100% remotely, but candidates must live within a 4-hour drive of Nicholasville, KY, as on-site collaboration is required once a quarter. The team consists of 4 developers and does not follow any formal project management methodology.
