00/hr W2 12-Month Contract (Extension possible) Overview We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the development of advanced field automation and connected equipment platforms used in a global R&D environment. This role is focused on building software systems that interact with real-world electromechanical equipment , enabling communication between machines, users, and data systems. You'll be working on platforms that connect field machinery, telemetry data, and cloud-based applications — helping drive automation and data-driven decision-making across large-scale field operations. What Makes This Role Different This is not a traditional web or finance software role . You will be building systems that: Interface with physical equipment and automation platforms Process real-time telemetry and sensor data Support machine control and field operations Operate in distributed, real-world environments Key Responsibilities Develop and support cloud-based applications in AWS Build and maintain REST APIs using JavaScript / TypeScript Develop web-based user interfaces for interacting with equipment and data systems Work closely with engineering and business teams to translate real-world workflows into software solutions Troubleshoot and enhance systems that interact with field equipment and telemetry data Deploy applications across environments and support system integration Ensure code quality through testing, debugging, and best practices Contribute to architecture and system design decisions Required Qualifications 4+ years of experience in software development Strong experience with: JavaScript / TypeScript

REST API

development Modern web applications (SPA frameworks) 2+ years working with: AWS (Lambda, ECS, EC2, S3, IAM, RDS) Relational or NoSQL databases Experience designing and building scalable cloud-based systems Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals and best practices Ability to work in ambiguous, real-world problem spaces Highly Preferred (this is where you win candidates) Experience with: IoT / connected devices Automation systems or equipment integration Telemetry or sensor data processing Distributed systems or event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ) Background working in: Manufacturing Aerospace Robotics Industrial automation
