Job Description

NextGen is offering high-tech internship opportunities to students with a strong desire and interest to learn about software engineering. No prior work history is necessary. We are willing to train the right candidates! Interns will be assigned a full-time mentor and will be embedded in team projects where possible. Join our mentor-based internship program tailored for aspiring IT and software development enthusiasts. This unique opportunity offers a personalized 1-1 experience, pairing each intern with a seasoned industry professional as their mentor. Through hands-on guidance and individualized attention, interns will delve into real-world projects, gaining invaluable insights, skills, and practical knowledge. Whether you're passionate about coding, system architecture, or software engineering, our mentorship program provides the support and mentorship needed to accelerate your growth and kickstart your career in the dynamic world of technology. Software Engineering Activities Java or Python programming Implementing software for ingesting geospatial data into RDBMS Preparing briefings and architecture design diagrams Assisting in software development projects under the guidance of senior engineers. Writing, testing, and debugging code. Participating in code reviews to learn best practices. Researching and implementing new technologies or tools. Documenting code and processes for future reference. Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Qualifications US Citizenship required Major in computer science, engineering, MIS, or information technology Proficient with Microsoft Office applications Thorough understanding of internet research Strong oral and written communication skills Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills Job Details Remote work allowed Laptop provided Expected hours: ~10 per week Start date:
