Sr Full Stack Developer Anywhere, US (Fully Remote) 6 Months Contract to

$90.00 - $100.00 p/hr About the Role Our client is a well-established specialty insurance and reinsurance organization seeking a hands-on Senior Full Stack Developer to take ownership of a portfolio of mission-critical financial applications. This is a high-impact, contract-to-hire opportunity where you will step into a developer lead capacity, freeing up the Solution Architect to focus on enterprise-level initiatives. You will own delivery end to end across a modern Microsoft cloud stack, lead without formal authority, and serve as the bridge between the business and technology teams in a SOX-controlled environment. Responsibilities Assume full ownership of four to five priority financial applications, driving delivery from requirements through deployment and production support Lead the development team day to day without direct managerial authority, setting engineering standards, conducting code reviews, and maintaining accountability across the team Architect, build, and modernize cloud-native applications using the Microsoft Azure stack (Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure SQL, Azure Fabric, Power BI) Design and build Blazor front-end applications and
REST API
services following SOLID and clean architecture principles Integrate with SAP for financial data exchange across reinsurance, ledger, and transactional processing workflows Implement and maintain SOX-compliant SDLC controls, support PwC and internal audits, and serve as the subject matter expert for compliance-related questions on your applications Write complex T-SQL, optimize query plans, and design schemas for high-volume financial data workloads Configure and maintain observability using OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, Azure Insights, and Azure Alerting Collaborate closely with finance business stakeholders to translate domain-specific requirements (ledgers, netting, eliminations, IFRS reporting) into technical solutions Champion the KISS principle and pragmatic engineering practices across the team Requirements 10+ years of hands-on experience across the full Microsoft stack: C#, .
NET 8/10, ASP.NET
Core, and Azure Production-level Blazor experience required; candidates must be able to walk and talk Razor/Blazor application architecture Demonstrated experience integrating with SAP (or comparable ERP) in a financial services or insurance environment Proven track record in SOX-controlled environments, including ITGC controls, audit support, SoD enforcement, and SDLC compliance Strong Azure cloud engineering depth: Azure Functions, Azure Service Bus, Azure SQL, Azure Fabric, Power BI; Azure DevOps CI/CD Expert-level T-SQL including query optimization, schema design, and stored procedures for high-volume transactional systems Ability to lead a small development team (3-5 developers) without direct authority, with strong soft skills and a relationship-first approach Experience owning the full feature lifecycle: requirements, technical design, implementation, code review, testing, deployment, and ops Familiarity with financial domain concepts such as general ledger, offsetting entries, netting, eliminations, and financial reporting standards Working knowledge of OpenTelemetry, Azure Monitor, and Azure Alerting for application observability Experience with .NET Aspire, microservices architecture, and clean architecture patterns a strong plus Insurance or financial services industry background strongly preferred Welcome to ConsultNet, a premier national provider of technology talent and solutions.
