$200k - $250k Base + Bonus & Equity Overview A fast-growing, venture-backed technology company operating in the global capital markets and legal intelligence space is building a next-generation document analysis platform. The company works at the intersection of large-scale financial data, complex legal documentation, and applied AI. This Staff Software Engineer role is backend-leaning and highly impactful, sitting at the core of the platform that delivers critical insights to end users. You will play a key role in shaping backend architecture, APIs, and data pipelines that power a search-centric web experience used by sophisticated financial and legal professionals. Responsibilities Design and build scalable backend services and APIs supporting a document analysis platform Develop high-performance server-side systems and data processing pipelines Define and evolve API contracts and contribute to core service architecture decisions Build composable API primitives to accelerate delivery of new document insights Integrate backend services with internal ML/AI systems and third-party tools Optimise performance for data-intensive backend workflows Contribute to frontend features as needed to deliver end-to-end solutions Take ownership of engineering quality, maintainability, and scalability Improve developer experience through CI/CD automation and production tooling Must Have Qualifications 7-10 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong backend focus Proficiency in backend development using Node.js, Python, or Go Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and data modelling Experience with Docker , Kubernetes , and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, etc.) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) CONTACT Bekim Doçaj Principal Recruitment Consultant
