Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer to develop, maintain, and support critical enterprise applications and transmission systems within a fast-paced technology environment. This role will focus on mainframe software development, system enhancements, production support, and collaboration with business and technical teams to deliver reliable and high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in COBOL, DB2, JCL, and mainframe technologies along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, maintain, and support enterprise mainframe applications and transmission systems. Develop software solutions using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and VSAM technologies. Collaborate with business stakeholders, systems partners, and technical teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Support system enhancements, defect resolution, and production support activities. Analyze technical requirements and implement scalable and maintainable solutions. Work within Agile development environments and participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and project tracking activities. Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, and batch processing issues. Support multiple development and maintenance initiatives simultaneously. Ensure adherence to quality standards, coding best practices, and operational procedures. Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain technical documentation and support operational readiness activities. Adapt to evolving technologies, tools, and business requirements within the organization. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of mainframe software development experience. Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, and VSAM. Knowledge of SQL and mainframe utility tools. Experience working within Agile development methodologies and using Jira. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in both virtual and in-person environments. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities within fast-paced environments. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. Strong commitment to quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with File-AID, Eztrieve, and SPUFI tools. Experience supporting enterprise data transmission or batch processing systems. Experience working within largeSPUFI -scale enterprise or financial services environments.
