JOB SUMMARY
The Solutions Architect Manager GSA has deep knowledge in data center design, data center products and data center trends, as well as experience in managing highly technical, motivated staff. You will oversee a team that handles selling efforts into GSA accounts with regards to design, customization and commercial applicability. They will coordinate and manage the various design options available and applicable to these clients based on Vertiv design availability, site constraints and customer applications. These SAs will align with the design specifics of GSA accounts, which are often more prescriptive than others. These Solutions Architects are self-starters and operate with high autonomy. Leveraging experience in mission critical applications, a Solution Architect can think quickly and pull from Vertiv's vast resources to solve customer needs. Customer facing role, working as a resource to Vertiv account teams. Able to digest customer requirements, communicate to pre-Sales design team, Bid Management team and Senior Management necessary details to formulate formal proposals and solution offerings. This manager will need to interact directly with GSA Management and Global Account Managers, offering, design and delivery teams to guide projects towards successful outcomes/ Crucial Manager of Infrastructure Solutions focused Solutions Architects. Engineering Sales. Customer facing. Proficient in providing technical support for solutions in the data center and mission critical industry. Solutions will include Vertiv products using prefab modular construction methods for Power, Cooling and White Space fit-out. Resource to the greater business supporting Edge to Hyperscale & Low Density to High Performance Compute. Excellent communication skills and presentation building for both internal and external discussions. Solution Architect has the Primary role through pre-sales design development and proposal response. Secondary role from PO to Delivery and Startup. Vertiv core competencies 10-25% Travel for customer engagements, conferences and trainings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
: Report to Director, Infrastructure Solutions Architects Advise GSA customers, GSA Solutions Architects, IS and ELT. Solve customer business needs leveraging Vertiv portfolio. Read and understanding RFP tender documents. Coordination with engineering and technical disciplines (HVAC, electrical, controls, fire protection) Technical project coordination with customers and suppliers Collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Deployment, Start-up and Commissioning teams. Proficient in reading customer specifications, such as MasterSpec format, and able to apply specifications to data center design. Problem solving and interpretation of customer requirements in proposed solutions Regional responsibility but required to coordinate globally with counterparts in other regions.
Requirements:
7+ years of technical experience Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related discipline Proficient in Data Center design and the impact of each technical discipline civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection and BMS Understanding of relevant architectural and structural codes and standards. Knowledgeable of AIA project phases for design, construction and commissioning. Basic drafting and sketch capabilities (Revit experience preferred). Solution-based thinking that will incorporate a multitude of Mechanical and Electrical components to an end-customer deployment Excellent Communication Skills, both written and oral. Excellent Organizational Skills & Time Management Ability to multi-task Self Motivated PC skills: Office 365 cross-functional platform Teams, SharePoint; Prior management experience preferred.
