Hiring Senior Python Lead/Architect Location Austin, TX Onsite Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Python Lead/Architect to spearhead the design and development of cutting-edge Python-based systems. This role demands a seasoned professional with a profound understanding of architectural principles, a mastery of Python, and the ability to translate complex business needs into robust, scalable, and maintainable solutions. You will be instrumental in shaping technical direction, fostering best practices, and driving the successful delivery of critical projects. ---
Key Responsibilities:
Architectural Design & Decision Making:
o Lead the end-to-end architectural design of scalable, secure, and maintainable Python-based systems. o Make and rigorously justify critical architectural decisions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and platform constraints. o Focus on designing for high performance, reliability, and operational excellence from the outset.
Deep Domain Ownership:
o Cultivate a thorough understanding of the business domain, including its intricate data flows and operational nuances. o Architect solutions that are not only technically sound but also precisely fit-for-purpose and adaptable to evolving business needs.
Expert Python Development & Leadership:
o Establish and enforce best practices in Python development, including coding standards and rigorous design/code reviews. o Provide essential technical guidance and mentorship to a team of dedicated Python engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence. o Drive the delivery of elegant, actionable technical solutions that balance speed, simplicity, and long-term platform sustainability.
System Boundaries & Integration:
o Skillfully define clear service boundaries, robust interfaces, and well-documented APIs for seamless integration with upstream and downstream systems.
Operational Excellence:
o Design and implement systems with a strong focus on reliability, high performance, comprehensive observability (monitoring, logging, tracing), and ease of support in production environments. ---
Required Qualifications:
Python Expertise:
Extensive, demonstrated experience in Python development and software engineering.
Architecture & Design Prowess:
o Proven track record in a technical leadership or architectural role, with significant experience in guiding technical strategy. o Strong command of software architecture principles, design patterns, and distributed systems.
Domain Acumen:
Ability to quickly grasp and deeply understand business domains and their associated data flows.
API & Integration Skills:
Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs and other service-based integrations.
Mentorship & Leadership:
Proven experience in mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaborative growth.
Problem Solving:
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
Educational Background:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. ---
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience within the financial services or asset management industry. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Knowledge of modern data platforms, data modeling, and ETL processes. Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
