Job Description
Description Imagine being part of a team where your expertise can help reshape the future of the Energy industry and accelerate the global energy transition. Here at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you'll work with a talented and inclusive team while using cutting-edge cloud technologies to solve the most complex challenges facing Energy companies worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect with a deep understanding of the Energy industry to support strategic customers in their cloud transformation journey. You will serve as the technical owner for customer relationships — advising on security, cost, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency across their entire AWS footprint. Working directly with customer executives and line-of-business owners, you'll architect highly scalable, resilient cloud solutions that drive measurable business outcomes and accelerate digital transformation across the energy sector. Key job responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical relationship with one or more of the largest Energy companies in the world, making recommendations on best-practice architectures that address real business problems
- Build trusted relationships with customer executives, engineering teams, and line-of-business owners — translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-optimized cloud architectures
- Lead technical discussions across all levels of the customer organization, from developers to C-suite, communicating the art of the possible while grounding solutions in practical delivery
- Advocate internally on behalf of the customer — sharing their needs with AWS product teams to influence platform roadmap development
- Create and deliver technical content including white papers, reference architectures, code samples, and workshops that establish thought leadership and accelerate industry transformation
- Help shape the Solutions Architecture organization by hiring, coaching, and mentoring others A day in the life You'll spend your day engaging directly with Energy industry leaders, diving deep into their most challenging technical and business problems — whether that's modernizing enterprise IT environments, enabling GenAI initiatives, optimizing large-scale data platforms, or navigating complex security and compliance requirements.
- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
- Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers
- Experience architecting and operating in large Enterprise IT environments, including expertise with corporate identity management systems, enterprise authentication frameworks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), IT Service Management (ITSM), change management processes, and enterprise security controls. Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
- Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers
- Experience in design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) workloads, including job scheduling, cluster management, or GPU-accelerated computing Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
