POSITION OVERVIEW
: We are seeking a highly qualified professional with a proven track record of success to join our IT team as a Senior C# Developer supporting ETRM applications and custom business systems in Houston, Texas. This role is critical to maintaining, enhancing, and supporting our ETRM platform and related integrations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in C#/.NET and SQL, along with hands-on experience in energy trading environments. This position requires strong technical and analytical skills, exceptional communication and organizational abilities, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, business-critical environment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide day-to-day production support for ETRM systems, ensuring timely resolution of issues and clear communication to business users. Analyze trade lifecycle workflows and identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements. Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, and IT teams to deliver system improvements and assigned projects. Maintain clear documentation for issues, requirements, and technical solutions. Support system upgrades, patches, deployments, and custom code releases. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and provide after-hours support for critical issues when required. Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, including analysis of legacy components and DLLs where necessary. Develop and maintain integrations (REST APIs, WebSocket's, FTP/SFTP, message queues) between ETRM and downstream systems. Build and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes (SSIS/SSRS). Follow SDLC, change management, and compliance standards. Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to development best practices. Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing within the team. Ensure requirements and deliverables align with corporate governance standards.
SKILLS:
Strong C# / .NET development experience Advanced SQL Server development (queries, stored procedures, performance tuning) PowerShell scripting Experience with REST APIs, WebSocket's, FTP/SFTP, and message queues ETL tools (SSIS, SSRS) Cloud experience (AWS preferred) Understanding of ASP.NET framework, SQL Server, and architectural design patterns Familiarity with IIS and three-tier architecture (client, web, database) Strong understanding of relational database concepts Familiarity with front-to-back-office data flow in ETRM systems Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent initiatives Strong communication and collaboration skills
ED UCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field 8+ years of experience as a .NET Developer using C# 5+ years of SQL Server development experience preferred Familiarity with
REST/RPC
architecture styles preferred Experience with SSIS and SSRS preferred Understanding of Azure DevOps and Git branching strategies preferred Previous Oil & Gas experience preferred Cloud (AWS) experience preferred Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, settlements, risk, and P&L concepts RightAngle experience preferred but not required Experience working in Agile project delivery environments Minimum 3+ years of experience in Energy Trading / ETRM systems (required)
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator. Requires a normal range of hearing and vision.
