Dell Products L.P. is seeking a Dev Ops Principal Engineer for our Round Rock, TX facility.
Duties:
Responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of software solutions for the DevOps team. Lead the architectural design, development, testing, integration, maintenance, documentation, and support of software systems. Analyze and investigate applications engineering tasks, prepare design specifications, and provide technical recommendations. Collaborate with project managers, marketing, sales, procurement, quality, legal, and end-users to define application requirements and select appropriate partners. Establish technical goals and standards for the team, ensuring that tasks meet technical and functional objectives. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems, requiring ingenuity and creativity, and communicate progress toward project/program goals. Provide tooling that enables Enterprise-wide visibility of CI/CD pipelines, dashboards and analytics to report on adoption of DevOps, trends and business outcomes such as deployment frequency and improvements to quality in an agile environment.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and eight (8) years of experience as a programmer analyst, technical lead, service delivery, developer, or related occupation. Alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and six (6) years of experience as a programmer analyst, technical lead, service delivery, developer, or related occupation.
Experience must include:
building and maintaining DevOps platforms, both virtual and Kubernetes platform; managing and supporting development tools at scale, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Sonarqube, Jira, and Confluence; developing and managing configuration management tools, Chef and Puppet; performing automate infrastructure provisioning using infrastructure provisioning and configuration management through infrastructure as code; managing and monitoring critical workloads using observability tools ELK, Zabbix and Nagios; managing teams of DevOps/software engineering professionals in a large solution domain; software engineering at scale with experience in DevOps Engineering; solving complex technical issues, and identifying software development lifecycle to improve flow, throughput, productivity and quality; researching and applying industry innovations and best practices in the solution domain; and partnering with technical and business leaders across organization to drive value from the technology solutions.
