Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer (React/Python) to support Global Trading initiatives through the development of scalable, high-performance applications, data products, models, and visualizations. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in front-end and back-end development, cloud technologies, database systems, and data engineering. Experience within oil and gas trading, commodities trading, energy trading, quantitative analytics, or financial markets is highly preferred. This role will work closely with quantitative analytics teams and business stakeholders to deliver innovative technology solutions supporting trading operations. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications supporting trading and analytics platforms.
- Build responsive and interactive user interfaces using React and modern web technologies.
- Develop backend services, APIs, and business logic using Python and related technologies.
- Collaborate with quantitative analytics teams to develop data products, models, dashboards, and visualizations.
- Design, develop, and maintain robust databases, data pipelines, and data integration solutions.
- Implement scalable and performant solutions to support trading workflows and operational processes.
- Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability across front-end and back-end systems.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
- Ensure code quality through testing, automation, documentation, and development best practices.
- Participate in system design discussions, architecture reviews, and technical planning activities.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, database, and performance-related issues.
- Implement security best practices and support application governance requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and adoption of new technologies and methodologies. Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with React and modern front-end development technologies.
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web development practices.
- Strong backend development experience using Python.
- Experience developing and maintaining web applications using modern development frameworks.
- Experience with database technologies such as SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar platforms.
- Strong SQL development skills and database management experience.
- Experience building and supporting robust databases and data pipelines.
- Understanding of data modeling, indexing, and query optimization techniques.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience developing APIs and full-stack application architectures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly supporting trading operations.
- Knowledge of market data, trading systems, and financial instruments related to energy or commodities trading.
- Experience supporting quantitative analytics, front-office, or middle-office trading teams.
- Experience within banks, hedge funds, commodity trading firms, or energy trading organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience with Databricks and Snowflake.
- Experience with Angular development.
- Experience with Node.js development.
- Understanding of web application security, performance optimization, and development best practices.
- Certifications in relevant technologies or development methodologies.
- Experience working with quantitative models, market analytics, and trading data platforms.
