Edge Software Engineer

Job Overview ELM Microgrid is looking to hire an Edge Software Engineer-I to develop and support embedded software for ELM's Microgrid systems. This applicant would be responsible for designing microgrid system architectures and understanding the capabilities of all the equipment that goes into the microgrid including storage and PV inverters, batteries, generators, etc. They will also be responsible for developing software architectures and the control logic used to manage the microgrid systems. This position will use LabVIEW and other computer aided software to debug and troubleshoot software applications. This applicant must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, and perform a variety of complicated tasks. Duties Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. 0-3 years of relevant experience Experience and ability in Python, C, C++ Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW software is preferred Experience with industrial automation communication protocols such as Modbus and CANbus. Experience with embedded system design Familiarity with version control software, such as Perforce Helix Core, Git, or similar, is highly desirable. Must have effective oral and written communication skills and work well with people. Must be a self-motivator to create and coordinate their own tasks and goals. This job could require up to 10% travel.
