Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to support high-volume, business-critical enterprise applications within a fast-paced technology environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing critical production platforms while collaborating with business, product, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver scalable and reliable software solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise in mainframe technologies, production support, system analysis, and software development lifecycle practices. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and support enterprise-wide mainframe applications in both batch and online environments. Perform detailed analysis for maintenance, enhancement, and production support initiatives. Design, deploy, and support software releases across production environments. Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, operations teams, and vendors to deliver high-quality software solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve high-severity and critical production issues. Identify root causes of technical issues and implement effective solutions. Execute unit, functional, and regression testing to ensure application stability and quality. Support application enhancements driven by business, product, system, and regulatory requirements. Maintain technical documentation and support operational processes. Participate in continuous learning initiatives and technology modernization efforts. Contribute proactively to development, design, and system stability improvements. Required Qualifications 7-10 years of software development experience supporting enterprise-wide, business-critical applications. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong hands-on experience with:
COBOL CICS DB2 VSAM JCL IBM
Utilities FileAID Endevor SQL Debugging tools Job schedulers IOMs Experience performing detailed system analysis in batch and online environments. Strong production support and troubleshooting experience. Experience handling critical and high-severity production issues. Strong understanding of software testing practices including unit, functional, and regression testing. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively in collaborative, fast-paced environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience writing COBOL and Native Stored Procedures. Exposure to distributed technologies such as Java and RESTful service-based architectures. Awareness or experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, particularly in hybrid mainframe-cloud integration environments. Experience supporting financial services or highly regulated enterprise platforms.
