Lead Wireless Engineer - C

Responsibilities:
- Identify, gather and review requirements collection supporting the design and implementation of Wired/wireless LANs.
- Perform site surveys to design the network and identify the device placement and materials required to implement and configure wired/wireless LANs.
- Conduct wireless site survey and basic RF spectrum analysis using tools such as Ekahau, AirMagnet, etc.
- Creates and delivers extensive documentation of the design, floorplans, signal strength maps, device location, required materials and integration approach for the wired/wireless network.
- Relies on extensive knowledge of networks to facilitate the design of wired/wireless LAN/WAN systems and enable their integration into an existing wired network.
- Designs, configures, implements and tests complex wireless networks and associated wired network equipment to enable a fully integrated network system
- Work with senior engineers to implement wired and wireless security protocols and policies (e.g., WPA2/3, 802.1x, captive portal, RADIUS Authentication, etc...)
- Performs test and evaluation of wired and wireless networks to confirm performance and security in accordance with established thresholds.
- Designs and tests prototype network components and configurations to validate designs prior to fielding
- Supports firmware upgrades and patching of hardware.
- Assist with wireless capacity planning and coverage optimizations.
- Provides and authors detailed technical documentation to include proposal documentation, integration instructions, assembly.
- Performs site surveys based on customer requirements and documents detailed technical infrastructure information to enable effective design and successful implementation

Job Requirements Qualifications:
- Cisco wireless professional certifications with experience in fielding, configuring and managing Cisco systems, AP's and network equipment.
- Candidate must be DoD 8140 Cyber IT Workforce compliant.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or experience (6 years).
- Experience in general networking and network administration, upgrade and operations.
- Good technical writing skills with established experience producing reports using the Microsoft Office Suite including Visio. Knowledge of enterprise design concepts and field implementation.
- An understanding of telecommunication room (TR), CAT 6, crimps, and wiring standards. Having a BICSI certification is a plus.
- Experience with team leading, site survey, site installation and configuration of 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax Wireless Network equipment.
- Additional exposure and experience with enterprise wireless systems (e.g. Aruba, Cambium, Ruckus, etc.).
- Understanding of wireless security practices and authentication methods. Experience deploying Network Access Control is a plus.
- Use Ekahau for measuring and diagnostic equipment to test, adjust and optimize wireless network system operation.
- An understanding of wired networks to include equipment (router, switch and VPN), protocols (Vlan, Trunking and QoS) and the propagation of network traffic.
- Experience working aloft and understanding of OSHA rules for work on man lifts.
- In accordance with our travel reimbursement policy, employees must pay for travel expenses in advance which will be timely reimbursed.
- The ability to travel up to 40-60% of the time.
- Exceptional people skills with focus on good customer relations and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of military and government personnel.
- Able to climb ladders up to 12ft and lift/carry objects up to 50lbs
- A valid driver's license is also required.
- An active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
- The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, which requires US citizenship.
