Software Engineer - Mid Level

Responsibilities Join our Strategic Innovation Center in Blacksburg, VA and support exciting projects across Peraton in areas such as communications, space, cybersecurity, defense, health, and mobile. You'll work in an Agile software development environment supporting requirements/story development, software architecture and design, software development, and unit/component testing.

Qualifications Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience working as a full-stack software engineer Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field Experience developing with Java and Python, along with a demonstrated ability to pick up new programming languages and technologies quickly Experience with AI-assisted development platforms such as Claude Code, GitHub CoPilot, and/or Codex Experience with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) and JavaScript frameworks (React and/or Angular) Experience developing web services and web applications Experience working with SQL databases (Postgres, MySQL, and/or MSSQL) Experience with containerization using Docker Experience working in an Agile software development environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player Strong written and oral communication skills U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications:

Target Salary Range $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
