ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides process analysis and makes recommendations for process improvement throughout all areas of the organization. Utilizes Cerner reportable tools to include but not limited to PowerInsight, to create and implement relevant data reports and dashboards to demonstrate progress of process changes related to clinical and/or operational improvements. Applies knowledge of
LEAN/TPS
methodologies to mitigate waste, decrease cost, and improve outcomes. Strives to support and enable the organization to become more self-sufficient and self-sustaining in process improvement endeavors. Helps set the strategy for LEAN/TPS and Six Sigma project implementation. Working with executive leadership, selects and prioritizes projects using techniques including but not limited to a SWOT analysis to ensure work alignment with organizational strategic priorities. Completes projects in a timely manner. Trains team members and others on how to use LEAN/TPS and Six Sigma tools and techniques to include but not limited to control charts, histograms and root cause analysis. Provides guidance, mentoring and evaluation of project teams. Creates project plans and guides team members to meet projects goals. Collaborates in the planning for clinical care services and assures implementation of key strategies to meet system and facility goals for clinical care, service, and financial results. Performs other duties as assigned.
LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Certification as a Black Belt (BBSS) in Six Sigma preferred (including ASQ Body of Knowledge).
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Management Engineering or an equivalent healthcare field of study OR equivalent healthcare quality management experience. Master's degree / enrollment in a Master's program or 10+ years of experience. Seven plus years progressive experience in leading and coaching LEAN/TPS and/or Six Sigma projects in a healthcare environment required. Previous experience in a healthcare setting strongly preferred. Minimum of 7 + years' work experience in a healthcare setting in quality role applying LEAN-TPS-Six Sigma and other data-driven improvement methodologies. Demonstrates expertise in developing decision support skills applied to electronic health records and querying large clinical and financial databases to enhance data mining and report generation. Oversight of organizational quality improvement projects a must. Experience providing quality improvement education in multiple settings required. Experience in report writing and SQL or CCL programming required. Experience with
SAS/SPSS
preferred. Experience with Business Objects or technical experience with the Cerner reporting tool, PowerInsight, required. Demonstrates the ability to display information persuasively in support of data-driven decision making. Demonstrates proficiency with statistical and process management software such as Minitab, and flow charting software and/or process mapping software, such as Microsoft Visio. Knowledge and work experience with relational databases such as SQL,MS Access, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project. Must possess exceptional leadership, interpersonal, written and verbal communication with people at all levels of an organization.
