Job Description
Position Overview The Configuration Engineering Technician plays a key role in supporting engineering change management and maintaining accurate, compliant product data. This position partners closely with Product Development, Product Engineering, Product Configuration, and Customer Service to ensure engineering changes, product structures, routings, and documentation are properly created, maintained, and released. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with technical data, has strong attention to detail, and works well across teams in a manufacturing environment. What You'll Do Engineering Change & Product Data Support Monitor, administer, and release Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Change Orders (COs) Create new parts and assign change responsibilities as part of the change management process Review and audit Change Orders to ensure required workflow steps are completed Perform final product data audits prior to ERP release and generate buildable statuses Release controlled engineering documents (drawings, specifications, etc.) in IFS following approval Product Data Audits & Maintenance Execute routine product data audits for parts, pricing, product structures, and routings Identify, investigate, and resolve product data errors and exceptions Assist with the maintenance and validation of configured and discrete product data Support Sales Configurator (CPQ) documentation, rules maintenance, and validation testing as needed Cross‑Functional & Administrative Support Partner with Customer Service to help resolve order entry data issues Provide general administrative support to Product Development, Product Engineering, and Product Configuration teams Reconcile Purchasing Card expenses for the Product Development department Perform other duties as assigned What You Bring Education & Experience Associate's degree in Mechanical Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field OR 3-5 years of experience supporting manufacturing product data (structures, routings, ERP, change management, etc.) Skills & Knowledge Experience working with ERP systems (IFS preferred) Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) Exposure to CAD/PLM tools such as Creo and Windchill preferred Familiarity with Sales Configurator / CPQ tools (CET preferred) Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Solid communication and problem‑solving skills Understanding of manufacturing processes (sheet metal, welding, machining, assembly preferred) Comfortable working collaboratively across departments Why Join Spacesaver?
