Software Development Manager, Amazon Security Data Engineering

Description Amazon Security Data Engineering (ASDE) delivers internal cross-Amazon security solutions for the governance of security data. Our team is responsible for building tools and services that collect, store, process and control accessibility to the massive volume and variety of security relevant log data produced by Amazon services. This is a innovative big data management and data access space, and we are seeking a Software Development Manager (SDM) who is excited about leading a talented team of software developers towards growing and scaling our suite of mission-critical services. You will be responsible for operating critical services that are foundational to Amazon operations across multiple business segments and establishing a new vision and approach for enabling business agility while improving the security bar. We strive to balance robust security and seamless user experience, raising the security bar while minimizing user interaction complexity. Prior security engineering experience is not required though you need to be a builder who has a passion for excellent customer experiences and bring energy to move the teams forward quickly. • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
