This role is based in our Leggett & Platt Idea Center office in Lenexa, Kansas, and will play a key part in delivering robust, high‑quality software solutions, including IoT‑based products. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will provide technical leadership, foster a strong team culture, and drive execution across both long‑term product strategies and short‑term project deliverables. If you enjoy leading teams, improving engineering practices, and delivering impactful software, this role offers the opportunity to make a measurable difference. Lead a team of software developers to provide enterprise and consumer solutions in the mobile and web platforms Own the facilities management function, including building maintenance and space planning Lead and coordinate software development activities, ensuring adherence to engineering processes Convert product strategy into clear technical plans and execution milestones Mentor and develop engineers and software developers, promoting strong technical and professional growth Track team progress to ensure quality, schedule, and requirements are met Provide actionable product performance feedback and incorporate lessons learned Foster a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive team culture Drive continuous improvement in development tools, processes, and workflows Partner closely with Product Management, Program Management, and senior leaders To be successful in this role, you'll need: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field 6+ years of professional software development experience 2+ years of technical and people leadership experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Data‑driven decision‑making and strong analytical skills Things we consider a plus: Experience with Microsoft Azure Mobile application development experience Experience delivering commercial software and hardware products Exposure to IoT‑based systems and solutions What to Do Next Now that you've had a chance to learn more about us, what are you waiting for!
