This role oversees the design, development, and implementation of control systems while managing a team of engineers across multiple projects. This position is ideal for someone who combines strong technical expertise with leadership experience, along with a background as a senior-level controls engineer and is able to think strategically while remaining hands-on when needed. You'll partner across engineering, IT/OT, and operations to deliver efficient, scalable automation solutions.

110k - 118K annually Essential Job Functions, Duties & Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of controls engineers, providing direction, mentorship, and performance oversight Oversee the design, development, and implementation of automation and control systems across projects Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, IT/OT, operations) to ensure seamless system integration Drive project execution including planning, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management Ensure standardization and best practices across controls engineering processes and technologies Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues within automation systems Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve system performance and efficiency Manage vendor relationships and support system upgrades or integrations as needed Balance strategic planning with hands-on involvement when needed to support project delivery Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Extensive experience with controls engineering technologies, IT/OT environments, and automation software Strong knowledge of Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and/or Schneider industrial PLC platforms Experience with project management, fiscal management, and personnel management Hands-on experience with back-end and front-end development Good understanding of Agile methodologies Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams Strong leadership abilities with a strategic mindset and focus on efficient resource utilization Familiarity with both front-end and back-end development concepts within automation environments Strong project management and organizational skills Ability to optimize resources and drive efficiency across multiple projects Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 5+ years of experience in the automation field 3-5 years of experience as a senior-level controls engineer Proven leadership experience in a technical environment Physical Requirements & Work Environment BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant preferred.Similar remote jobs
