They need someone to own the engineering organization behind those experiences - not manage it, own it. What You'll Actually Be Doing Leading multiple web engineering teams in a hybrid operating model. Shaping the roadmap - not reacting to it. Partnering with Architecture on the right technical direction for a modern, high-scale web platform and holding the bar high for how software gets built and delivered. You'll partner closely with Product as a peer, not a service provider. You'll make design calls , unblock teams, and build the kind of engineering culture that retains great people. The Technical Bar You need real depth in modern web - React, Node.js, GraphQL, REST, cloud platforms (AWS or GCP). Some Java. Experience with high-availability architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and observability at scale. You don't need to be writing production code daily, but you need to be credible when the conversation goes deep. 10+ years building customer-facing software at scale. 5+ years leading engineering teams directly (ideally has a manager of managers).
