Opens a new window. Manage the development, releases, and maintenance of software engineering applications according to business needs and strategic visions. Specialize in best practice for ServiceNow architecture, design, development, testing and implementation. Oversee a small team of ServiceNow developers and administrator(s) to support the successful sustainment and growth of the ServiceNow platform for department and university customers. Deliver best-in-class ServiceNow software and platform solutions to support the university mission, overseeing application development, design, building and maintenance. Ensure applications meet business needs and expectations of a broad range of stakeholders. Manage the implications of security and compliance guidelines by embedding university policies and procedures into workflows. Drive governance and strategy for the use of the ServiceNow platform within ITS and set the example for other standalone ServiceNow solutions on campus. Communicate the importance of and sensitivity around risk identification, mitigation, and remediation. Manage team developing core platform infrastructure (e.g., scalable systems and services) and lead prioritization planning activities in highly collaborative environments. Establish governance for enterprise applications through the implementation of standards, procedures and quality measures. Contribute to and guide cross-functional coordination and architecture discussions. Manage compliance by defining service standards and establishing policies and procedures to guide daily operations and strategic planning initiatives. Drive continuous improvement by leading new and revised software applications. Ensure code is maintainable, supportable, and performs upon implementation in alignment with design specifications. Oversee root cause analyses to identify and solve problems. Monitor the development of production-ready software application code that's easily testable and performs upon implementation. Sets strategies and lead the identification and initiation of process improvement efforts. Ensure code is maintainable, supportable, and scalable with business growth. Develop and prioritize realistic, customer-focused solutions, leveraging insights on customer pain points and needs. Independently handle risk and change, following team/project philosophies, operational data, and engineering strategies in uncertain situations. Manage documentation of all software development stages and processes, ensuring integrity of code by peer review. Stay current with technology, industry standards and best practices. Leverage the latest technology and anticipate impact on departmental/university software services. May work remotely from a home office.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's or equivalent degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field plus six years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a solutions architect, software development engineer, software engineer, or programmer analyst. Requires certification as a ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA). Requires at least 3 years of experience in a senior-level technical role for ServiceNow platform development including architecture, design, development, testing and implementation; integrating ServiceNow with other systems; and ServiceNow applications such as ITSM Suite, Configuration Management Database (CMDB), Asset Management Database (AMDB), and Discovery. Requires good oral and written English communications skills, including the ability to translate complex ServiceNow concepts into digestible, audience specific messaging.
