Every day, our systems coordinate the storage and movement of food at national scale across a network of state-of-the-art distribution centers, including multiple highly automated warehouse facilities. The Role The Software Development Manager will lead multiple offshore development teams, primarily based in Colombia. You will collaborate closely with architectural, site reliability, quality assurance, and platform teams to ensure strategic alignment and operational effectiveness. Through active participation in design sessions and code reviews, you will ensure your teams build software that aligns with US Cold's standards. You will drive delivery roadmaps, own team performance outcomes, and represent your teams across the organization. What You Will Own Lead and develop offshore engineering primarily in Medellín and Bogotá Establish measurable objectives and key results Own roadmap execution and delivery outcomes for offshore teams Monitor progress, remove delivery blockers, and escalate risks appropriately Ensure sprint commitments align with long-term architectural goals Champion standards in architecture, testing, observability, and operability Align offshore teams with U.S.-based architecture and product direction Serve as the operational bridge between U.S. and offshore teams Communicate risks, tradeoffs, and resource needs clearly to leadership Drive cross-functional alignment with Architecture, Platform, QA, and Product Technical Environment Distributed engineering organization across the U.S., Colombia and more Azure and OCI Multi-Region Infrastructure Java monoliths and microservices with Spring and Hibernate Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible GitHub Actions and Jenkins for CI/CD Observability using Dynatrace and Azure Monitor What We Are Looking For 10 2+ years of engineering leadership experience Strong experience with Java including Spring and Hibernate Demonstrated record of delivering production systems at scale Strong understanding of system design principles including SOLID, technical debt management, observability, and performance optimization Experience defining and managing OKRs Experience implementing Agile and Scrum practices in distributed teams Ability to communicate technical decisions and delivery risk clearly Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
