Job Description:
Software Engineering Manager - Kent, WA (Hybrid) Our client is a high-growth SaaS startup enabling Advanced Manufacturers to build world-class hardware. They're looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a small, growing team and help scale the software foundation that powers their mission. In this role, you'll guide a team of 6-8 engineers, shaping how they deliver high-quality software while fostering trust, growth, and clear execution. You'll partner closely with product and executive leadership to define priorities, manage the backlog, and ensure alignment across engineering and the broader business. You'll also stay close enough to the codebase to offer meaningful technical guidance, reviewing designs, spotting issues early, and helping the team maintain strong development practices. The right person is a servant leader who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments and knows how to turn ambiguity into clarity and action. What you'll do: Lead and grow a high-performing software team with empathy and accountability. Translate product and company goals into actionable plans and measurable outcomes. Drive delivery through strong communication, prioritization, and technical judgment. Partner with technical leads to improve architecture, quality, and system reliability. Build the operational rhythm and culture that enable consistent execution. You'll bring: 10-15 years in software development with proven leadership in SaaS or high-growth tech. Strong technical acumen with the ability to guide reviews and architectural discussions. Experience aligning engineering work with business outcomes and product goals. Familiarity with React, Next.js, Node.js, Apollo, AWS, Docker, and CI/CD tools.
