Software Engineering Manager Tyler Technologies United States, Texas, College Station 526 University Drive East (Show on map) May 11, 2026 Software Engineering Manager Apply Online We're hiring an Engineering Manager to lead our Enforcement Mobile development team, supporting a widely used platform for citation management and crash reporting used by public safety agencies.
This role focuses on people leadership, delivery ownership, and driving the execution of our technical strategy. You'll lead a team of approximately 12 engineers, mentor senior talent, and play a key role in enhancing product quality, elevating customer experience, and guiding the platform's ongoing evolution.
Enforcement Mobile is built on a mature, proven technology foundation, and we are actively investing in its evolution toward a cloud-native, event-driven architecture on AWS. This work will be done incrementally and thoughtfully, with a strong focus on delivering continuous value to customers.

Requirements
Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Own delivery outcomes for the team, ensuring high-quality, reliable releases and a strong customer experience.
Partner closely with Product Management and Product Owners to align engineering efforts with customer needs and business priorities.
Identify and drive improvements in system performance, stability, and overall product quality.
Define and execute an incremental modernization strategy, evolving the platform toward event-driven, cloud-native architectures on AWS.
Make thoughtful tradeoffs and clearly communicate decisions that balance near-term impact with long-term platform health.
Mentor senior engineers and guide architectural decision-making by asking thoughtful questions, challenging assumptions, and fostering strong technical judgment across the team.
Expand and scale AI-assisted engineering practices to improve development velocity, quality, and operational insight.
Partner with product teams to support the development of AI-enabled product capabilities.
Evaluate and evolve team structure over time to support growth and scalability.
Drive improvements in testing strategy, with a focus on increasing automation and engineering efficiency over time.
Required to undergo and satisfactorily pass a fingerprint background check in accordance with CJIS requirements. Location College Station, Texas Travel 0-5% Qualifications 7+ years of software engineering experience, including experience leading engineers or technical teams.
Strong technical foundation in .NET/C# and experience working with established systems and modernization efforts.
Proven ability to lead teams responsible for production systems with real customer impact.
Experience designing or evolving systems toward event-driven and distributed architectures.
Experience building or operating systems in AWS and applying cloud-native design principles.
Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including automated testing, continuous delivery, and system observability.
Experience leveraging AI tools to improve engineering workflows and outcomes.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, make decisions with incomplete information, and clearly communicate technical tradeoffs.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
A track record of developing engineers and building high-performing teams.
Nice to Have Experience leading platform modernization or incremental migration efforts across production systems.
Background in mobile or field-based applications, particularly in public safety or similar domains.
Experience working in public sector or regulated environments.
Experience advancing automated testing practices in teams transitioning away from manual QA.
Experience applying AI or machine learning capabilities within software products.
Work Environment
This role is primarily in-office to support close collaboration with the team.
Hybrid flexibility is available, with an expectation of at least three days per week in the office.
