Job Description

Test Engineering Manager Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead the development and management of RF Automated Test Equipment (ATE) systems. The role involves designing, developing, deploying, and documenting test systems primarily using Python. The successful candidate will work on testing RF and microwave devices specifically for space and defense applications. This position requires a strong experience in software architecture, development processes, and RF engineering principles. Responsibilities Design, develop, deploy, and document RF ATE Test Systems using Python for testing RF and microwave devices. Develop and refine company-level software architecture and reuse strategy. Create and refine software development and management processes, including version control, code review, and coding standards. Interface with product engineers to develop ATE test solutions to validate device performance specifications. Create test data sheets for customer reporting. Maintain and update data processing applications. Use data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI to generate customer data packages. Maintain existing legacy ATE software (LabVIEW and Keysight / Agilent VEE) and migrate to modern platforms. Manage a small test engineering team, ensuring effective recruitment and retention. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science. Expertise with Python and data processing (Numpy, SciPy) and visualization (Matplotlib, Plotly). 5+ years of professional experience in software development. Strong knowledge of electronics and RF principles (Spectral analysis, S-Parameters, etc.). Proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Excel. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Proficiency with graphical programming languages such as LabVIEW and Keysight / Agilent VEE. Experience with automated tests using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc. Ability to understand and create documentation (schematics, test specifications, etc.). Proficiency with SQL-based databases and data visualization tools (Tableau / Power BI). Experience in RF space hardware and related test processes. Experience managing a small test engineering team. Work Environment The work environment is fast-paced and located in Camarillo, California, following a 9/80 schedule. The role involves working with top aerospace and defense primes in the country. The position requires the use of RF test equipment and environmental equipment, and familiarity with a high mix, low volume RF and microwave manufacturing setting is preferred.
