Sr. Software Test Engineer/Sr. SDET - INTL Costa Rica

Job Description As a Sr.

STE/Sr. SDET, you partner with software developers to create and code tests concurrently with product development. You build tools that help developers be more productive, write better code and test it themselves. Troubleshooting is an understatement; it's more like trouble forecasting. The STE will also act as a representative of the Software Test Engineering Team in scrum meetings and provide input on how to provide better quality coverage for the applications supported.

Responsibilities Include:

• Work in an Agile Software Delivery methodology highly focused on developing automated tests within an iteration.
• Work with the project team to drive Test Driven Development where modules that are being worked on are tested right away for immediate feedback
• Provide a risk assessment on the defects identified and set the correct priority and severity.
• Automation is NOT the only mechanism for quality. As an STE, you are expected to perform ad-hoc/exploratory tests from a feature as well as regression testing
• Significant understanding on complex coding frameworks and applications such as Java, Node, Mobile and OTT
• Ability to develop and execute perform Performance Tests
• Understanding application behavior and utilizing testing techniques
• Justifying test coverage for application(s) supported.
• Mentoring of team members on the following competencies: ○ Test Automation and STE Test Automation Standards ○ Use of STE Unified Test Framework ○ Application behavior and testing techniques ○ Test coverage for application(s) supported.

• UI & API

  Testing using Java-Based Framework
• Content/Data Publishing Experience
• Test automation experience with Selenium framework
• Performance Testing
• Some AWS experience
• 5+ years of solid working experience on developing Test automation scripts specifically object-oriented frameworks (TestNG, Java, API Systems, Spring)
• 3+ years of experience as a test engineering within an Agile environment
• 5+ years of experience in a functional testing role
• 2+ years of experience leading projects with minimal supervision.
• 2+ years of Front-end testing experience (web, mobile, OTT)
• 2+ years Video Content Delivery Experience
• 3+ years of Performance testing experience using commercial or open-source tools (jMeter, Curl, WebPageTest or other commercial perf testing tool)
• Significant working testing experience supporting an application written on the following languages: ○ Node ○ JavaScript
• 3+ years of testing experience in an Agile Software Development methodology.
• Exposure to Agile Management tools such as Jira, a plus.
• Experience working with native AWS a big plus
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or similar field and/or 3+ years work experience in equivalent field
