Job Title:
Test Automation Engineer / Electrical Engineer Job Description The Test Automation Engineer / Electrical Engineer will design and deliver advanced test systems for electronic products. This role involves developing requirements from scratch, designing multi-layer PCBs, and identifying gaps in test coverage. The engineer will also design and execute test plans for new products and features, collaborating with software, firmware, and hardware design teams. Additionally, the role includes the design and implementation of next-generation test automation hardware systems for efficient and repeatable testing. Responsibilities Design and deliver test systems for electronic products. Develop requirements and design multi-layer PCBs. Identify and address gaps in test coverage. Define and execute test plans for new products and features. Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware design teams. Design and execute hands-on testing and rework of PCBA and electrical components. Implement next-generation test automation hardware systems. Essential Skills Strong Electrical Engineering fundamentals. Experience with schematic capture, PCB design, and circuit analysis. Proficiency in programming/scripting with Labview, Python, or C++. Experience with test automation and test plan development. Familiarity with hardware testing tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers. Additional Skills & Qualifications BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout using Altium. Capability to develop 8+ layer PCBs through the entire product lifecycle. Experience in managing product lifecycles including requirements, design, build, integration, and deployment. Willingness to learn software development, particularly scripting with Labview and/or Python. Work Environment The role supports Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and involves collaborating with a team of 65 test engineers. The position supports programs like Roadrunner, Ghost, Anvil, and Fury, offering a unique opportunity to work on state-of-the-art technology in the defense industry. The environment encourages collaboration across various engineering domains, including mechanical, firmware, and software.
