You'll be paired with a tools development team, and work with them to extend their automated testing to help ship a high quality Xcode and Instruments. You'll have the opportunity to build shared APIs for testing, and be challenged to come up with testing strategies that maximize coverage of your component with minimal manual intervention. This includes reasoning about failure modes that span OS, compiler, and runtime boundaries - where the root cause of a bug may live far from where it surfaces. In this position, you will: Identify test scopes and develop quality plans for complex, dependency-heavy features across rapid development cycles. Execute tests with attention to detail and communicate the overall quality to stakeholders. Drive teams to resolve issues, championing problems that degrade the developer experience in profiling, debugging, or memory analysis workflows. Preferred Qualifications Experience with profiling, memory diagnostics, or other runtime analysis tools Proven experience designing test strategies that account for complex failure modes and cross-system dependencies Minimum Qualifications BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience Strong object-oriented programming experience in Swift and Objective-C, with Python or other scripting experience a plus. Excellent troubleshooting skills with a passion for quality Experience in writing automation tests at API, UI, and non-UI levels Collaborative and curious contributor with a proactive communication and demonstrated ability to lead projects Ability to reason about how failures in dependent systems (OS, compiler, runtime) can surface in higher-level tools Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
