Contract Responsibilities:

Validate the functionality, stability, and performance of Android-based and Linux-based software systems, including multimedia, connectivity, and core platform features. Execute manual test cases, exploratory testing, and regression testing across a variety of use cases and system states. Perform deep-dive troubleshooting on test failures using system logs, debugging tools, and Linux command-line utilities to identify root causes. Document and report defects with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and supporting evidence such as logs and timestamps. Set up, configure, and maintain test environments, including hardware test benches and software builds. Collaborate with developers, QA, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality releases.

Requirements:

Experience developing and executing manual test plans, including smoke testing, regression testing, and validation of high-risk scenarios such as system state changes, updates, and power cycles. Strong hands-on experience with Android and/or Linux-based systems, including familiarity with system behavior, debugging, and validation. Proficiency working in Linux environments (CLI, logs, journalctl, basic networking, permissions) for troubleshooting and test execution. Experience testing complex systems such as consumer electronics, mobile devices, embedded systems, or similar platforms. Ability to triage issues effectively and write high-quality bug reports that are actionable for engineering teams. Experience with hardware/software integration, including device setup, flashing builds, and end-to-end feature validation. Familiarity with log analysis and debugging tools for identifying system-level issues. Must be onsite in Palo Alto.

Desired:

Basic scripting (e.g., Python or shell) is a plus for log parsing or test support tasks. Experience with test bench setup or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments is a plus.
