Duration:
6 Months Contract Job Overview We are seeking highly skilled QA Automation Engineers with a strong engineering and programming background to join a fast-paced team in Fremont, CA. This is not a manual QA role. Candidates must possess solid coding fundamentals, strong SQL expertise, and hands-on automation experience across UI, API, and database layers. The interview process includes technical problem-solving and whiteboarding exercises, so applicants should be comfortable with algorithms, logical thinking, and writing code. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test scripts Perform UI, API, and database testing for enterprise applications Build reusable automation components and scalable testing solutions Develop and execute end-to-end automation workflows Validate backend data using complex SQL queries Identify, troubleshoot, and debug application defects Collaborate with developers, product teams, and QA teams to improve product quality Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and test strategy planning Contribute to automation framework enhancements and best practices Required Qualifications Programming Fundamentals (Must Have) Strong understanding of programming logic and computer science fundamentals Ability to write algorithms and convert logic into working code Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Language-agnostic coding mindset Programming Languages Hands-on experience with: Python At least one strong Object-Oriented Programming language Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies SQL Expertise (Critical Requirement) Strong hands-on SQL experience Ability to: Write complex queries Perform inner and outer joins Conduct data validation and backend debugging Independently analyze and explore data Automation Testing Strong experience in: UI Automation API Automation Database Validation Testing Experience creating reusable automation utilities and frameworks Ability to automate complete end-to-end workflows Tools & Technologies Selenium (required) Playwright (preferred or willingness to learn quickly) Experience with automation framework development Familiarity with test execution, debugging, and reporting tools Preferred Qualifications Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills Prior experience in scalable automation framework design Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Excellent communication and collaboration skills Important Notes This is an automation-focused QA engineering role - manual testers will not be considered. Candidates must be comfortable with onsite technical interviews and whiteboarding sessions. Strong engineering fundamentals are mandatory for success in this role.
