Job Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Quality Assurance Tester III for Oracle HCM supports the quality assurance activities for Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) applications. This role focuses on executing test cases, participating in test planning, validating system functionality, and collaborating with technical and business teams to ensure high‑quality HR, Payroll, and Benefits solutions. The Tester III contributes to comprehensive test coverage, identifies and documents defects, and provides recommendations that support release readiness and ongoing improvements to QA processes. In this role, the QA Tester III ensures comprehensive testing coverage for critical business processes and customizations, drives timely and effective defect resolution, and maintains a high standard of quality for production releases. The QA Tester III is accountable for completing all testing activities for Oracle HCM quarterly updates on schedule, delivering thorough readiness reports, and proactively communicating risks and results to stakeholders. Success in this position also involves advancing test automation, reducing manual testing effort, fostering strong stakeholder satisfaction, and leading continuous improvement initiatives that enhance QA practices and outcomes.

USF MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training, and four years of IT related work experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and five years of IT related work experience, OR a Master's degree and three years of IT related work experience, OR a combination of eight years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification is considered to be related training.

Four years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree.

SB 1310. TECHNICAL SKILLS
Experience with Oracle HCM Cloud and SaaS application testing. Strong analytical skills to identify, document, and report bugs, errors, and inconsistencies in product output. Proficiency in test automation frameworks. Proficient in various testing methodologies such as Black Box, White Box, Grey Box, and Regression Testing to ensure thorough product testing. Knowledge in database management and SQL for backend testing. Understanding of programming languages such as Java or Python or similar programming language, to comprehend codes and identify potential problems.
SOFT SKILLS
Excellent attention to detail to ensure every component of the product is scrutinized. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with the development team, providing feedback and recommendations to enhance product quality. Problem-solving skills to debug errors and make suggestions for product improvements.
INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with automation tools to design and execute test scenarios and scripts. Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and standards to ensure that products meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements. Experience with Agile and DevOps practices.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
Oracle HCM QA Activities & Planning:
Participate in test planning activities for Oracle HCM modules (HR, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management, etc.).Contribute to defining functional test scenarios and validating that acceptance criteria are met. Provide feedback on risk areas and recommend improvements to testing approaches.
Test Execution & Documentation:
Execute manual and automated test cases for functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing. Create, update, and maintain test scripts, test data, and testing documentation. Validate test results, document defects with clear reproduction steps, and follow up on resolution. Communicate testing outcomes and risks to project team members and stakeholders. Functional Support:
Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product teams, and HR partners to understand requirements and confirm test coverage. Participate in discussions to clarify expected system behavior and ensure alignment with business needs. Support user acceptance testing by assisting stakeholders with testing activities and troubleshooting.
Release & Change Readiness:
Facilitate functional and regression testing activities for Oracle HCM quarterly updates, major releases, and patches. Escalate risks related to release readiness through appropriate channels. Validate critical features and business processes prior to production deployments. Work with technical teams to support integration of testing activities into CI/CD workflows.
Quality Metrics & Continuous Improvement:
Provide input on QA metrics such as defect trends, test execution results, and coverage observations. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to refine QA processes, tools, and testing efficiency. Contribute to evaluating and adopting new testing tools or automation enhancements.
