Job Posting Title Prototype Quality Analyst Job Description Summary Ensures that products being built, and the processes being used for the builds, adhere to all design requirements and standards. Monitors build processes and quality systems for adherence to company and regulatory standards and practices. Participates in corrective action root cause work and all prototypes. Performs supplier quality reviews and internal audits. Ensure components meet design requirements prior to receiving into inventory. Confirms prototype assemblies meet design requirements and documents condition of parts and assemblies prior to shipping for testing and before shipping to the customer.
Job Description:
Management of all supplied component related issues to reduce and eliminate AAM customer and financial exposure within prototype manufacturing. Participates in the design and implementation of
IATF 16949 / ISO9001
2015 compliant quality system for the AAM Prototype team. Responsible for Return Material Authorization process and cost recoveries dealing with supplied non-conforming material. Responsible for review and release of supplier material in accordance with the
AAM SP-11
procedure for prototype components. Knowledgeable in the IPF system. Monitor and select items for Receiving Inspection (RI) audits. Queue those RI activities for CMM programmers. Lead resolution of supplier quality issues (PRR's) and related corrective actions. Knowledgeable in Plex PRR system. Ability to depict, document, and explain issues. Ensure Prototype's containment procedures for suspect material is followed. Issue corresponding Quality Alerts and ensure training /awareness of those Alerts. Issue Engineering Incident Reports (EIRs) and CARs as required to drive corrective actions and document lessons learned. Knowledgeable in PLM and Corporate CAR system. Can lead all phases of
CAR:
Problem Description, Containment, Immediate Actions, Root-cause, Long-term Corrective and Preventive Actions, Verification. Submit and maintain customer specific prototype quality documentation. Ability to load records to PLM. Provides quality support for Production, Engineering, and Warranty staff as the needs arise. Capable of hand inspections, laser scanning, and queueing for other inspections outside of skill set. Maintain corporate documents related to cost of quality and AAM's Q^4 requirements. Active participant in Annual Q^4 audits along with gathering and recording evidence of compliance. Participate in supplier technical reviews and internal build reviews. Perform pack-out quality inspections (GP-12) related to shipments to customers. Capable of final inspection of product and have the ability to fully pack for ship readiness. Knowledgeable in Parsable System - authoring or editing both Templates and Job Creation. Work overtime and/or weekends and travel domestically as needed to help Prototype Department achieves its responsibilities and commitments. Actively participate in Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and 5S improvements. Fully versed in Apex gage calibration system. Leads department wide gage calibrations throughout the year. Other duties as assigned.
