This position works closely with the Regulatory Director and Food Safety Manager in order to extensively investigate internal and external non-conformances (NCRs) as well as participating in all quality functions. The QA Position will be responsible for data collection and analysis to help achieve departmental quality metrics and identify opportunity gaps.
Key Responsibilities:
Investigate company returns and non-conformance reports (NCRs) to identify underlying causes and prevent recurrence. Analyze quality defects related to raw materials, process inefficiencies, and warehouse conditions. Collaborate with the operation and quality teams to develop corrective action plans. Review and refine NCR-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) in order to enhance quality control measures. Identify the gaps in internal processes and provide recommendations for improvements in order to reduce defects and enhance efficiency. Analyze weekly claims to identify any trends regarding quality and report to the Director of Regulatory and the SVP Quality. Provide weekly reports to Leadership team. Participate in process audits and provide insights to improve overall quality management. Liaise with departments within the organization in order to ensure alignment of quality expectations and NCR resolutions. Work closely with Latin American Quality teams to improve upstream quality control measures. Provide weekly reports and data-driven insights to leadership on recurring quality issues and trends Maintain and analyze NCR data, identify trends, and present findings to support decision-making. Assist in budget performance tracking and cost monitoring related to quality improvements. Maintain a database of relevant certifications and compliance documentation, including FSMA and organic standards. Stay updated on regulatory requirements and evolving customer expectations. Support quality inspections and warehouse audits as needed. Assist with customer tours, audits, and third party regulatory inspections. Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree related to Ag business, production or related fields such as food processing preferred and a minimum of three years' relevant experience Prior experience in warehousing, quality assurance, or supply chain operations is required. SQF Practitioner/ HACCP/PCQI Certification Skills and/or
Physical Requirements:
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) NetSuite (experience preferred) CRM and Power BI (a plus) Strong analytical and communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Required to work independently. Must be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/ procedures. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, walk, and squat as needed for inspections. Exposure to warehouse environments and food-grade chemicals. Ability to work in varied conditions, including hot, cold, or wet environments. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Travel required for site visits and inspections.
