Job Description

UNIVERSAL
Technologies is seeking an experienced QA Lead for a hybrid position in Brooklyn, NY to support enterprise testing initiatives involving enhancements, defect remediation, platform upgrades, and ongoing software maintenance for large-scale public-facing web applications and guided digital experiences. Active LinkedIn preferred. This role will lead QA activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), oversee QA team members, coordinate testing efforts, develop automated and manual testing strategies, and ensure adherence to established QA standards and best practices. •Contract is approximately 12 months.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field Minimum 8 years of Quality Assurance experience, including at least 5 years serving as a QA Lead supporting complex enterprise systems Experience testing public-facing web applications and browser-based UI applications Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and QA best practices Experience utilizing SDLC/test management tools such as Azure DevOps, TFS, VSTS, JIRA, or Quality Center (QC) Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver using Java for UI test automation Experience developing and executing test strategies, test plans, test cases, traceability matrices, defect reports, and test execution reporting Experience validating system integrations involving real-time and batch data transfers Strong understanding of functional, compatibility, regression, sanity, and performance testing methodologies Experience testing HTML-based web applications and understanding differences between browser-based applications and thick-client/desktop applications Experience using API and web service testing tools such as SoapUI and Postman, including automation capabilities Understanding of SOAP and REST web services and SOA architecture Understanding of file formats including XML, JSON, and CSV Understanding of XML data models such as NIEM Practical SQL experience supporting QA and testing activities Experience testing mobile native applications Understanding of HTML language and web technologies Ability to create, maintain, and manage QA documentation in SharePoint and shared repositories Strong analytical, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and investigative skills Ability to independently drive tasks through completion with minimal supervision Experience providing testing effort estimates and coordinating testing schedules with project management teams Strong leadership skills with experience assigning work to QA analysts, tracking progress, mentoring team members, and ensuring adherence to QA standards Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Microsoft Project
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Lead QA activities supporting enterprise enhancements, defect fixes, software maintenance, and platform upgrades Review business and technical requirements for completeness, accuracy, and testability Develop and maintain comprehensive QA documentation including test strategies, test plans, test scripts, traceability matrices, test estimates, defect reports, and progress reports Coordinate testing schedules and collaborate with project managers to align QA activities with project timelines Load and maintain test cases, scripts, and requirements within approved test management systems Maintain QA and project documentation within SharePoint and other shared repositories Assign tasks to QA team members and monitor testing progress and deliverables Create, acquire, validate, and maintain test data required for testing activities Execute manual and automated test cases according to approved testing plans Identify, document, track, and support resolution of defects in collaboration with development and project teams Support deployment and release activities as needed Contribute to regression, sanity, automation, and performance testing efforts Identify opportunities for automation and implement automated testing scenarios where applicable Ensure accurate reporting and documentation of QA activities, test execution status, and issue resolution Participate in SDLC activities and ensure QA processes align with organizational standards and best practices
