Quality Assurance Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist to support software testing efforts in Rochester, New York. This Long-term Contract position focuses on validating web-based applications through a blend of manual testing and browser automation. The ideal candidate will help maintain product quality by identifying defects, documenting findings, and working closely with teams to improve overall application performance and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Design and carry out test activities for web applications to confirm functionality, usability, and consistency across releases.
• Build, update, and execute Selenium-based automated test scripts to strengthen regression coverage and improve testing efficiency.
• Perform hands-on manual testing to uncover defects, verify fixes, and evaluate system behavior under different scenarios.
• Record test results clearly, log issues with supporting details, and help drive defects through resolution with the appropriate teams.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to clarify expected outcomes and ensure quality standards are met throughout the development lifecycle.
• Review application changes and assess testing impact so that new features and updates are properly validated before release.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA practices, test documentation, and overall testing processes.
• Support validation efforts related to application updates or process changes when needed as part of ongoing quality initiatives. Requirements + Need to have prior experience in ISO Compliance
• Hands-on experience in quality assurance with a strong understanding of software testing principles and defect management.
• Practical experience using Selenium for web browser automation and automated test execution.
• Ability to perform thorough manual testing and document results with a high level of accuracy.
• Familiarity with creating test cases, test scenarios, and clear defect reports for web-based applications.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate issues and identify root causes.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality testing outcomes.
