RTX BBN Technologies is seeking a QA Lead to drive quality strategy for a web-based application we are developing for a DoW customer. This application has a video game-inspired interface for strategy/resource management, with some underlying AI elements and highly dynamic system components. We are looking for a QA leader who will define how quality is built in, tested, automated, and sustained across a modern microservices-based architecture deployed in Docker and Kubernetes environments on DoW-owned systems. This role is about ownership and direction — not just execution. You will not be starting from zero (we are well into development), but we are looking for a test professional to level up our QA game and also mentor a small QA team. This position is a hybrid working situation at our Cambridge, MA or our Rome, NY officeWhat You Will Do:
Define and lead the overall QA strategy for a complex, interactive web application. Make decisions about testing frameworks, automation strategy, and quality gates within CI/CD pipelines. Determine the appropriate balance of automated, exploratory, regression, integration, and performance testing. Establish strong configuration management and release validation practices across services and environments. Ensure quality across a microservices architecture deployed via Docker and Kubernetes. Partner with engineering and UX teams to identify risk, improve testability, and prevent defects. Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts. Raise the organization's quality standards and mentor junior QA engineers on the team. Willingness to travel as needed, approximately 10% of the year.Qualifications You Must Have:
B.S. or equivalent in a technical degree with 8 years or more experience as software or data integration developer OR 6 years experience with MS degree. Significant experience testing modern web applications with complex, interactive front ends. Experience leading or shaping QA strategy, not just executing test cases. Familiarity with microservices architectures and distributed systems, including testing of interfaces and API's. Experience validating containerized deployments (Docker) and Kubernetes-based environments. Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and quality controls within DevSecOps workflows. Strong grasp of configuration management and release integrity across environments. Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, UX designers, product owners, and government stakeholders. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance (active clearance preferred).Qualifications We Prefer:

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
