0-5% Project Description This position supports Revolutional's customer, DHS ICE (Enforcement and Removal Operations
- ERO), where critical mission systems are undergoing modernization.
The current environment consists of large, complex legacy systems that manage operational workflows (e.g., processing, tracking, and managing encounters). These systems have evolved over time and often include layers of business rules, manual processes, and tightly coupled functionality. The core challenge is not simply rebuilding these systems; it is: Understanding how they actually work in practice Identifying which functionality is mission-critical Eliminating unnecessary complexity Translating that functionality into a modern platform-based architecture As part of this effort, DHS is adopting Palantir as a target platform for modernization. Revolutional plays a key role in bridging legacy systems and this new platform, ensuring accurate translation of functionality while improving system design. Position Description As a QA Tester at Revolutional, you will own quality assurance across the full testing lifecycle while contributing to one of the most critical aspects of modernization: ensuring that complex, legacy system functionality is accurately and reliably translated into clean, scalable software. You will work across functional, integration, and specialized testing domains, but your role goes beyond test execution.
You will be expected to:
Analyze ambiguous legacy systems to identify testable requirements Design rigorous test strategies that reflect real operational workflows Identify gaps between documented behavior and actual system performance Help define quality standards for modernized systems moving forward You will operate in an environment where: Documentation is incomplete Requirements are not always well-defined Legacy behavior may not reflect optimal or intended design Success in this role requires analytical rigor, strong communication, and the ability to drive quality outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and optimize comprehensive test scripts and test plans that align with system modernization objectives Identify, document, and track defects through resolution, ensuring clear and actionable reporting Coordinate with the development team and stakeholders to ensure requirements are comprehensively understood and tested Actively participate in all relevant meetings (sprint ceremonies, planning sessions, stakeholder reviews) to ensure testing activities and effort are clearly communicated Seek to continuously improve testing processes to align with evolving requirements and rapid delivery cadences Support the full SDLC from a quality assurance perspective: requirements analysis, test planning, execution, defect management, and sign-off Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot defects across application, integration, and data layers Complete Palantir training and certification (provided by Revolutional) and apply quality assurance practices within the platform
Technical Environment Testing Tools:
JIRA, Xray, and other modern QA tooling
Application Stack Under Test:
Java/Spring Boot backend services, React-based front-end components, RESTful APIs, relational databases, and legacy integration layers
Practices:
Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, sprint-based testing, defect lifecycle management
Environment Note:
This is a hybrid environment combining legacy systems and modern platform-based development. Testing must account for both existing legacy behavior and new modernized functionality, with a focus on validating accurate translation — not simply confirming that software runs. What You Bring (Requirements) Baseline Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 5+ years of hands-on software testing experience Experience working in complex or enterprise system environments Ability to obtain and maintain required clearance Technical Capabilities Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and best practices Proficiency with JIRA for defect tracking and project management; Xray experience strongly preferred Ability to design, write, and maintain detailed test plans and test scripts Experience testing RESTful APIs, backend services, and data-driven applications Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery environments and sprint-based testing workflows Core Strengths Strong analytical skills with the ability to decompose complex workflows into testable requirements Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate defects and testing status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Strong organizational skills and the capacity to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment High attention to detail and commitment to thoroughness in test coverage Ownership mindset and accountability for quality outcomes Nice to Have (Differentiators) Skills in specialized testing such as security testing, Section 508 compliance testing, and load/performance testing Experience with legacy system modernization or transformation efforts Experience supporting federal or mission-driven environments Exposure to enterprise data platforms or large-scale system integrations Experience deriving test requirements from real-world system usage rather than formal documentation #LI #DICE #CJ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Here at Revolutional we are pleased to have been repeatedly recognized for our outstanding work culture, the innovative work we do, and the employees on our team who make a difference each day.

Classification of protected categories is as follows: A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability. Veteran Status Select... Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305 Page 1 of 1 OMB Control Number 1250-0005 Expires 04/30/2026 Why are you being asked to complete this form? We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years. Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp . How do you know if you have a disability? A disability is a condition that substantially limits one or more of your "major life activities." If you have or have ever had such a condition, you are a person with a disability.
