Temporary Contract. Up to 6-32 hours per week as needed and be on call or fill-in as needed (Work some Saturdays from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m.)
Position Summary:
The overall purpose of this job is: The Testing Center is responsible for the testing activities of PSCC. These primarily include administration, proctoring and proper security of testing materials. We also administer basic skills assessment tests, class testing for teachers including on line courses, testing for off campus agencies, other colleges and universities and the administration of DSST and CLEP exams.
Typical Duties & Responsibilities:
85% Test Administration 1. Operates Testing Centers with or without Testing Technician I (checks in students, pulls student tests, finds passwords, handles student/instructor concerns, seats examinees, helps examinees log-on toputers, starts timing instruments as needed, collectspleted tests and testing materials, watches examinees to ensure administration conditions are met in the Testing Centers, etc.). 2. Successfullyplete requirement necessary to achieve certification to administer a number of standardized exams, such as CLEP, DSST, Pearson-Vue and HISET. 3. Explains individual testing requirements to students—prores and resolves any misunderstandings using appropriate customer service and management techniques. 4. Collaborate with faculty regarding test revisions, availability of tests, and guidelines and testing options for various tests. 5. Prepare an Incident to document irregularities, testing discrepancies, or dishonesty and forward report and copies of pertinent materials to faculty and Test Supervisor. 6. Maintains an optimal testing environment that ads to college, standardized and National College Testing Association (NCTA) standards. 7. Collaborates with Supervisor, Test Administrators, and other testing staff regarding improving/changing testing operations, staffing, and updating of Testing Center policies and prores. 8. Provides information, clarification and advice to testing staff regarding test delivery, policies, prores, test retrieval and use of specializedputer testing software. 9. Interprets oftenplicated prores for administration of proctored tests from other colleges/universities and standardized testingpanies; andprehends delivery methods for several categories of tests, including classroom make-up, Internet, CBT, essays, pre-GED, and other remote/proctored exams delivered paper/pencil orputer-based format. 10. s maintain security and accountability of tests before, during, and after testing inpliance with established guidelines. 10% Test Office 11. Performs office related duties as required, including answering phones and making test appointments, preparing deposits for testing funds, creating flyers for test scles and policies, answering test questions, scanning tests or answer sheets, making copies, filing, and faxing/mailing tests/reports. 5% Other 12. Performs other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year full-time work experience administering standardized paper/pencil andputer based testing
  • Experience with the use ofputer equipment and kledge of office related skills.
  • Certification training and exams must bepleted prior to administering tests that requires such certification (HISET, CLEP, etc.
). (Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience)
Skills & Abilities:
Must have excellent problem-solving andanizational skills. Must have excellent decision-making skills. Excellent customer service andputer-related skills are required to be fully qualified for this position. A second language is not needed or required. Special Instructions to
