Job Description:
Plans, develops, and coordinates all internal and external national examinations inclusive of testing software/learning management systems for Meharry Medical College while working under general supervision. The Testing and Software Support Specialist works closely with all college department unit directors and faculty in the administration, implementation, and evaluation of exams as principle liaison. The individual ensures the implementation of policies, protocols and national guidelines, pertaining to the curriculum related to managing exam integrity. Essential Functions (Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities): Primary administrator of all national board testing software inclusive of the college learning management system and internal exam software pertaining to trainings, software updates, proctoring and basic troubleshooting among pertinent campus staff/faculty/students Assists with technical troubleshooting in collaboration with the Office of Information Technology Communicates exam logistics among students/unit directors inclusive of working closely with the Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) to support needs of students with accommodations Interact consistently with the Office of Student Academic Affairs in all student related exam logistics pertaining to exam scores, exam questions, grade changes, timely exam submissions and exam integrity Manages a college centralized testing schedule and resolves all potential conflicts including identifying and utilizing appropriate space conducive to test administration Manages exam creation process across all courses via internal or copyrighted question banks compiled by faculty Prepares and disseminates all pre and post examination data for faculty review inclusive of score reports and summaries in a timely manner Educates and schedules proctors to coordinate a centralized testing schedule Identifies any potential exam breaches and reports information to the Office of Student Academic Affairs Keeps apprised of testing software updates and implements in a timely manner Assists Student Academic Affairs office as needed with time sensitive tasks (Graduation, MSPEs', etc.)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (ex. Blackboard) and testing software Excellent inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse campus community Basic skill set in the technical use of personal, college testing computers and related software applications Demonstrate attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality FERPA compliance or preparation Generating data in digital format for review and records (Excel, Word, shared databases) undefined
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Preferred:
Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (Blackboard) and external testing software Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities Ability to make immediate administrative/procedural decisions and judgments Excellent inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively inclusive of confidentiality with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community Ability to compile and generate statistical data and generate reports Advance writing and editorial skills Clerical, word processing, and office skills Basic skill set in the technical use of personal computers and related software applications Ability to interact with students, faculty and/or staff in a team environment Knowledge of Workday, Exam Software (Exam Soft) Item Banker, National Board Medical Examinations (NBME) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Word specialized skills, Knowledge, and abilities that are preferred to perform the essential function of the role as needed
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution and 2-3 years of related experience are required In lieu of Bachelor's degree, 5 years of relevant experience required to perform the essential functions of the role
