Quality Assurance Engineer

Apptricity Corporation, the global leader in real-time enterprise asset, inventory, field services, and spend management technology, is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our fast-growing company. In this role, you will perform a variety of QA tasks, including manual regression testing, building automated test scripts, and maintaining an up-to-date test plan for both web and mobile applications. Every feature and function of the software must be completely tested so that any potential issue is identified and fixed before the product is deployed to a customer. The software should be tested in terms of functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility with other legacy and / or external systems. This position requires a self-motivated, dynamic individual with strong technical and communication skills. We are looking for someone who takes the initiative to find new and improved ways to get things done, is action oriented and achieves results. This position is full-time on-site in our Irving, TX office.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None Duties/Responsibilities:

• Build automated and manual test scripts for each software application
• Design, build and drive organizational change to an automated test environment utilizing automation tools
• Work in-step with development to test new versions as they are released
• Create user-based scenarios with variable data insertion
• Report and track bugs and third-party issues with a high degree of detail
• Communicate issues, risks, and test status in a timely, detailed manner across working teams and functional boundaries
• Function as a contributing member of a SCRUM team
• Proactively verify contributions from the development team to the QA test environment
• Be responsible for the health and effectiveness of the QA test environment

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong understanding of SQA methodologies and practices
• Create descriptive test plans with attention to details
• Communicate issues and potential impacts clearly and concisely to cross-functional team members and stakeholders

Education and Experience:

Education:

BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience

• 5+ years of QA experience
• Must have SCRUM experience, and an understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Experience testing web applications, mobile applications, and APIs
• Experience with RDBMS data structures
• Experience with Java, JIRA, and SQL a plus
