Job Description

Position Summary Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is a trusted partner of federal health agencies. We are exploring the addition of an experienced Automated Tester to support the development, execution, and maintenance of an automated testing solution for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and federal health programs. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building automated test suites, integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring high-quality software delivery in Agile environments. The Automated Tester will collaborate closely with developers, data engineers, business analysts, and project managers to validate functionality, performance, accessibility, and security across data-driven applications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for unit, integration, and regression testing. Build and enhance automated test frameworks using tools such as Selenium and Playwright, ensuring automated tests are reliable, repeatable, and integrated into the development lifecycle. Execute automated and manual tests as needed to validate functionality and identify defects, monitor automated test execution, and troubleshoot failures. Develop test plans, test cases, and test data to support functional, regression, and performance testing. Identify, document, and track defects; collaborate with developers to support timely resolution. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins. Support version control, branching strategies, and release management activities. Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and ensure high-quality delivery, communicating risks, issues, and quality metrics to project leadership. Document test results, automation frameworks, and testing procedures. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree 5+ years of experience in software testing, 2+ years focused on automated testing. Hands-on experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks. Strong understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile practices. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience developing and maintaining test scripts in languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or C#. Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship Ability to obtain a public trust Preferred Qualification Experience supporting VA or federal healthcare agencies in production application deployment and sustainment initiatives. Familiarity with accessibility testing and Section 508/WCAG standards. Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Locust). Experience with test data management and environment configuration. Knowledge of SQL for validating backend data and test results. Experience with Azure DevOps test plans or similar test management tools.
