Trident s Integrated C4ISR Systems (ICS) specializes in products and services which improve the safety and survivability of our armed forces. We develop solutions for a wide range of demanding missions and environments, including tactical communications systems for multi-national interoperability, autonomous predictive maintenance and logistics solutions, and scalable, responsive, all-domain surveillance systems. Trident's integrated systems support the protection of the National Capital Region and various military installations both domestic and abroad. We can deliver innovative, high-performance solutions that meet our customers' evolving requirements by integrating our specialized knowledge in electronic systems with appropriately scaled development methodologies. Position Summary The Senior Software QA Engineer will be part of a team responsible for supporting an aerial surveillance system for a Department of Defense customer. The candidate will support software for an integrated application that includes external system sensors, captured video, and static imagery. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive software and system tests to ensure the highest levels of reliability and performance. Duties and Responsibilities This position will work closely with the QA team, software developers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a high-quality product. Work to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or software modifications Identify functional problems and suggest effective resolutions Define internal quality control standards and support reliability program maintenance Document and analyze test cases and provide regular progress reports Create detailed test plans, test cases, and test specifications Ensure test environment is properly configured, coordinating with developers as needed Execute system-level tests and validate results Facilitate clear communication across the development team Ensure required test data is available and properly maintained Manage test execution of test plans, performed by other resources Ensure final builds are properly stored and version-controlled in Git File, track, and verify bug reports through resolution Communicate risks and quality concerns to program managers in a timely manner Perform system analysis to support troubleshooting and validation activities Take initiative to improve QA tools, processes, and methodologies Contribute to improving product documentation and overall product quality Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and workflows Ensure testing procedures comply with applicable industry or customer standards Coordinate with vendors or suppliers when testing components or integrated parts Required Qualifications A bachelor s degree in in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience Minimum of 6 years' experience in Software QA Ability to write and execute SQL queries and automated test scripts Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies Hands-on experience with software test tools and bug-tracking systems Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and collaborate across teams Expertise in functional, regression, integration, system, performance, and user acceptance testing Ability to identify gaps in requirements and recommend improvements Skilled in root-cause analysis and driving quality improvements across teams Excellent written communications skills for producing detailed technical documentation, including test plans, test cases, test strategies, and test reports Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal Government security clearance Preferred Qualifications Active US DoD Secret level security clearance Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Java, JavaScript, or Ruby) Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic, ambiguous environments Strong ownership mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes and driving continuous improvement Trident Systems reserves the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
