(Defense Healthcare Medical Systems) Overview We are seeking a Testing Services Assistant Director to support execution, oversight, and optimization of software testing across a large-scale DHMS program. This role partners closely with senior testing leadership and government stakeholders to ensure testing activities stay on track, key metrics are delivered, and operational efficiency continues to improve. You will operate with a high degree of independence—driving execution, anticipating challenges, and implementing modern testing best practices across Agile and DevSecOps environments. Key Responsibilities Testing Execution & Delivery Own end-to-end execution of software testing across ~10 integrated products Drive planning, execution, and reporting of test activities Ensure timely delivery and continuously improve testing timelines Provide clear visibility into solution health and test outcomes Testing Strategy & Modernization Lead adoption of modern testing practices in Agile and DevSecOps environments Define and implement best practices across teams Drive test automation and CI/CD integration Improve testing metrics and performance tracking Subject Matter Expertise Serve as a trusted advisor on: Testing strategy and execution Test automation and environments Tradeoffs across development, security, and operations Provide insights to leadership on how decisions impact testing outcomes Team Leadership & Execution Oversight Support Testing Services Director in managing team priorities and execution Lead key meetings (e.g., IPTs, scrums) and track deliverables Allocate resources and manage competing priorities Remove blockers and escalate risks as needed Stakeholder Engagement Partner with: Government leadership Engineering and development teams Security and operations stakeholders Ensure alignment across all testing activities Process Enforcement & Improvement Ensure adherence to defined testing processes across teams and vendors Identify gaps and drive corrective actions Develop SOPs and improve execution consistency Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve testing effectiveness and scalability Evolve role responsibilities as program maturity increases Lead initiatives to optimize tools, processes, and performance Required Qualifications 15+ years of experience in SDLC environments 10+ years of experience in software testing / QA Experience driving transformation from: Legacy/manual testing → modern Agile / DevSecOps testing Strong understanding of: Testing strategy Test automation CI/CD pipelines Experience working in complex, multi-team environments U.S. Citizenship required (eligible for Public Trust) Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting: DoD programs Defense healthcare systems (DHMS, MHS GENESIS, etc.) Familiarity with: Adaptive Acquisition Framework (5000 series) DoD testing requirements and documentation ISTQB Certification (or similar) Experience with acquisition and test & evaluation environments Tools & Technologies Jira, Zephyr, Xray Git / GitHub integrations Test automation tools (UFT, UI Path) Data tools (SQL, Tableau, PowerBI) Familiarity with XML, C#, or JavaScript (preferred) Key Competencies Strong execution leadership and ownership mindset Ability to operate independently and drive outcomes Data-driven decision making and performance tracking Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities across complex programs High attention to detail and follow-through #AC1

$140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
