Job Title:
Senior Validation Engineer Job Description This Senior Validation Engineer role focuses on planning, executing, and leading hardware validation activities for complex products that integrate analog, digital, and embedded subsystems. You will join a dedicated hardware validation team and work closely with design and integration teams to ensure that board-level hardware meets all functional and performance requirements. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact technology programs and to continue developing your expertise in hardware verification and test engineering. Responsibilities Lead the test and validation of analog, digital, and embedded hardware subsystems at the board level. Develop detailed requirements, verification plans, and test procedures for product design verification. Create, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans that cover hardware functionality, performance, and reliability. Develop and execute verification plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure the proper functioning of hardware designs. Perform board-level electrical circuit troubleshooting and debugging to identify, analyze, and resolve hardware issues. Prepare hardware for testing, including hands-on soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components as needed. Collaborate closely with design and integration teams to review designs, clarify requirements, and ensure testability of hardware. Analyze test results, document findings, and provide clear feedback and recommendations to cross-functional teams. Contribute to continuous improvement of validation methodologies, tools, and processes within the hardware validation team. Communicate status, issues, and risks effectively to stakeholders and support leadership in making informed technical decisions. Support multiple projects as needed, adapting validation strategies to aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics applications. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in board-level design verification for aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics products. Strong experience in hardware validation and verification of analog, digital, and embedded subsystems. Hands-on experience with hardware verification, including developing and executing verification plans, test cases, and procedures. Proficiency in board-level electrical circuit troubleshooting and debug. Strong hands-on soldering skills with both through-hole and surface-mount components for hardware preparation and rework. Experience developing requirements, plans, and procedures for product design verification. Proven experience in design verification for hardware systems, including board-level debugging and analysis. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical findings and collaborate across teams. Demonstrated leadership skills in driving validation activities and influencing technical decisions. Experienced in electrical engineering disciplines such as hardware verification, PCB design, testing, and validation. Experience working with microcontrollers, SoCs, FPGAs, power supplies, electric motors, high-speed interfaces, and RF-related hardware. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in board-level design verification within aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics environments. Familiarity with power supply validation and testing methodologies. Experience writing structured test plans and documentation for complex hardware systems. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with cross-functional design and integration teams. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when planning and documenting verification activities. Interest in contributing to large-scale, high-impact technology programs involving advanced hardware platforms. Work Environment This role is based onsite in Redmond, WA, working within a dedicated hardware validation environment alongside design and integration teams. You will work hands-on with test equipment, development boards, and hardware prototypes that include analog, digital, and embedded subsystems such as microcontrollers, SoCs, FPGAs, power supplies, electric motors, high-speed interfaces, and RF components. The position offers a structured services arrangement that includes six paid holidays and ten days of paid time off per calendar year, along with an open statement of work that does not impose a tenure limit. The initial engagement is planned for six months, with strong potential for long-term work on subsequent opportunities as projects evolve. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
